After losing her parents in a car accident, high school student Hyun moves to Thailand to live with her half-sister Ji-hee. There, she takes care of Ji-hee’s daughter and befriends a group of local teens to ease her loneliness. As her connection with one of them deepens, they encounter a mysterious shadow creature during a test of courage. While Hyun is caught up with her new friends, Ji-hee’s daughter ends up in the ER, prompting Ji-hee to kick Hyun out. Lost and hurt, Hyun seeks out the shadow creature again. Later, Ji-hee extends an olive branch and invites her for a drive, but it’s soon revealed that Ji-hee is actually taking her to the hospital to use her as a match for her daughter’s organ transplant. Tense and pressured, Hyun starts to relive the trauma of the day she lost her parents, sensing unsettling parallels in the car. In the middle of the road, a shadow creature stands still.
